Established in 1942, the African American Military History Museum honors African American soldiers from the past through to the present. Visitors can view artifacts, photos and unique displays. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum is located at Camp Shelby just 12 mi south of Hattiesburg. The museum features state-of-the-art exhibits honoring Mississippi’s servicemen and women of all branches, as well as those from other parts of the country that trained in Mississippi during times of war.
