Natchez hosts a Fall and Spring Pilgrimage when nearly 30 of the city's antebellum mansions, most of them private residences, open their doors to visitors. Guides are in period costume and each house features 18th and 19th century furnishings, porcelain, silver, clothing, tools, documents and diaries. The Spring Pilgrimage takes place for five weeks every year in March and April, while the Fall Pilgrimage follows for two weeks in September and October.

Held every autumn, the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race brings thousands of visitors to Natchez for three days of colorful hot air balloons, world renowned musicians, fireworks and more. The festival takes place on the grounds of Rosalie Bicentennial Gardens on Broadway Street in historic downtown Natchez.

Each November, Natchez presents a presentation at the Natchez City Cemetery of selected grave sites and the individuals buried there. Guides direct groups from grave to grave where local actors, dressed in period costumes, give commentaries and musical tributes about the various historical people buried within. Tickets and information available at the Natchez Visitor Reception Center.

The Spring Pilgrimage started in 1932 and has become a Natchez tradition ever since. For five weeks every March and April, dozens of the city's private antebellum mansions and stately residences open their doors to the public and offer tours from guides in period dress. Approximately 65 homes rotate to be on tour year after year.
